Dear Members,
“Education is the foundation of progress in every society.” The words of John Dewey emphasize the important role educators play in shaping our students and communities. As we begin this new academic year, the Executive Committee wishes you all a productive and successful term ahead, filled with opportunities for growth and achievement.
Established in 1964, the HKAHSS is celebrating its 60th Anniversary. The theme of the 60th Anniversary is “Raising the Bar: To Go Above and Beyond” (上下求索.跨高越遠). Here comes the latest news from HKAHSS after a restful summer:
We are pleased to share that HKAHSS has achieved a new record of 483 members for the 2023-2024 year. Thank you for your steadfast support.
Our annual membership drive is now in full swing. We warmly invite new principals who have not yet joined us to become members. For our returning members, we greatly appreciate your ongoing commitment and look forward to your involvement this year. We also value the participation of vice principals, assistant principals, retired principals, and former principals in our Association. Please encourage your colleagues to get involved.

The is the final call for the 60th Anniversary Trip, co-organized by the Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation (香港培華教育基金會), Jinan University (暨南大學) and HKAHSS for Hong Kong secondary school principals.
Scheduled for November 14-16, this study trip celebrates the upcoming 60th Anniversary of HKAHSS and aims to deepen our understanding of national and global development trends through touring the Greater Bay Area in Mainland China.
A highlight of the trip will be observing technological advancements in various business sectors and visiting an “ETU” (一土教育) School in Guangzhou, which features innovative educational programs. Throughout the tour, participants will explore solutions for urban-rural development, witness the integration of technology and green industries, recognize the strategic significance of the Greater Bay Area, and appreciate Mainland China’s contributions to a shared future.
The Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation, established in 1989, is a non-profit organization formed after a visit organized by the Hong Kong business community to Beijing and Xi’an. Its primary goal is to train competent personnel in Mainland China, guided by the motto “Nurture Ourselves, Nurture Others.” Currently, the Foundation comprises 42 voluntary members, with Dr. Lee Shau Kee (李兆基博士) as Chairman, alongside governors Dr. Ian Fok Chun Wan (霍震寰博士), Dr. Henry Cheng Kar Shun (鄭家純博士), and Dr. Peter Lee Ka Kit (李家傑博士). Pei Hua has funded, organized, or co-organized over 600 projects, primarily focused on short training programs.
The tour will be fully sponsored by the Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation and will be free of charge. Single rooms will be provided for participants to enjoy quiet reflection throughout the trip. Please click HERE for the itinerary.
